This collection contains a single book with 29 pages of inscriptions, autographs, and verse dated between 1839-1841, from Hudson New York. The first inscription was written by Christine Best, owner of the album, and includes a color illustration and title, "Christine Best's Book Hudson July 22, 1839." Original black leather embossed boards, highly decorated; red leather spine with gilt decoration.

Dolores Ann Smith autograph album

This collection contains the autograph album of Dolores Ann Smith, an African American student from Roanoke, Virginia. The album's cover is embossed with "My School-Day Autobiography" in gilt letters. Two black and white photographs of young African American children are at the front of the album, one pasted and the other tipped in. The names of Dolores's teachers up to the eighth grade are identified on the "My Teachers" listing and a list of classmates. Seven autographs with associated greetings dedicated to Dolores appear throughout the album from classmates and family. These autographs range in date from December 1944 to November 1948. One page near the end of the album is written as a diary entry by Dolores from 1945. The end page, contains the address and the date August 14, 1948.

This collection contains a large, stamped friendship album dedicated to Ellie F. Keen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from her father. The album contains a color title page, twelve romantic themed color plates throughout the album, over fifty poems and personal notes, and a full-page watercolor of lovers embracing in the moonlit night. Most inscriptions are signed with a first name only or initials; although, there are some exceptions with the writer's full name. Predominately written between 1848 and 1849.

Emily P. Atwell friendship album, 1857-1888, 0.03 cubic feet, with leather binding and gold and blind decorative stamping including title "The Sunbeam Album." Front page inscribed "To Emily P. Atwell, New Ipswich, N.H., New Year's present from her mother, Jan. 1st 1852." Contains many sentiments and verses directed to Emily, including many different handwriting examples from both male and female friends and acquaintances. Two plates included, "The Well," and "The Fantoccini Boy." Pages are made up of decorative patterned paper of different colors, pink, purple, green, and white. Location of signers include River Sioux, Iowa, Illinois, and Fitchburg.

Lucia Kingman friendship album, 1835-1840, 0.03 cubic feet, a commericial friendship album with red leather binding, and blind and gold stamped decoration. There is an unused decorated title page marked "Published by J.C. Riker, No. 15 Ann Street, New York." It is filled with poems titled "To Lucia" in similar and various hands from signers in Princeton, Ipsweich, North Bridgewater, Easton, Reading, and Wellfleet. [Ipswich Female Seminary] Some hand colored prints.
