An artificial collection of documents, election tickets, campaign literature, and photographs from national, state, and local elections. Most of the state election material concerns Virginia and the largest group of materials is from the 1932 presidential campaign.

Letters to his mother and father about family, health, and politics. He mentions being in law school, his father's upcoming dental procedures and dentures, state politics and the upcoming election, a widow taking in boarders, and the Hell Gate explosion in New York.

Thomas was a delegate for the Virginia State Convention in 2012 and a volunteer for the 53rd Inaugural Presidential Ceremonies. This collection includes badges from her involvement with the political process, pamphlets, bumper stickers, pins, and campaign material for the Democratic party.

Collection contains a letter written by George W. Erving, after canvasing parts of Virginia for the election of 1800, stating that the Jeffersonians would be the clear winners.

Collection contains a war department business letter from John Harris in Philadelphia to Israel Whelen. At the end of the letter, Harris notes that cannons just notified him that Congress voted on its 34th ballot, meaning Thomas Jefferson was now president.

Papers of Linda Lavin which document her career as a Broadway and television actress, and also as an advocate of women's rights and equal opportunity. Newspaper clippings, interviews, news releases, and personal letters record her success as a member of Neil Simon's Broadway play, "Broadway Bound," for which she received a Tony Award, the Drama Desk Award, and the Helen Hayes Award in 1987 as best leading actress.
