Special Collections is located in Carol M. Newman Library at Virginia Tech. Special Collections includes manuscript collections, rare books, and the University Archives, as well as state, local and historical maps and photographs. Alan Campbell Cameron Papers 0.3 Cubic Feet 1 box

Cameron, Alan Campbell, 1895-1960
The collection includes the papers of World War I fighter pilot Alan Campbell Cameron (1895-1960) of Riverside, Cook County, Illinois, including letters from relatives and friends, primarily his father John M. Cameron (1867-1939), a Chicago attorney at the law firm of Custer and Cameron, and Dorothy Abbott, a romantic interest of Cameron during his school years. The letters document Cameron's life as a college student, his service as an aviator in the war, and his post-service years while leasing the Sanford Hotel in San Pedro, California. The collection also includes Chicago Daily Tribune clippings.

The Albert N. Hubbard Letter is a diary-style letter that contains information pertaining to fighting and traveling through the Shenandoah Valley, including New Market, Woodstock, Harrisonburg, and Staunton. The letter was written in Martinsburg, Virginia, and sent back to Hubbard's home in Windsor, Massachusetts.

The Alexander Farish Robertson Papers contains correspondence, account books, and assorted documents, dating from 1867 to 1931. The majority of the material pertains to the legal practice of Robertson (1853-1938) who as an attorney, made a specialty of chancery and fiduciary matters.

Allen C. Clark Correspondence 0.1 Cubic Feet 1 folder

The collection includes two letters written to Allen C. Clark (1858-1943), president of the Historical Society of Washington, D. C. One letter, dated October 1920, is from C. S. Lashhorn detailing contact information for his family as requested by Clark. The other letter in the collection, dated February 1924, is from William Tyler Page, a clerk of the House of Representatives, and includes information on women who were granted pensions.

The Andrew Given Family Correspondence contains 41 letters by Private Andrew Given written to his wife, Eliza F. Given. The letters cover Given's military service in Virginia from June 1861 until just before his desertion from the army in September 1862. In addition, there are family letters from 1864-1884.

This collection includes two letters from the Bassett Furniture Company to Richardson Electric Co. in 1922. The first letter from J. D. Bassett, President, is in regards to a burned out motor, and the second letter from J. C. Hooker, Secretary and Treasurer, is in regards to the installation of a hot air furnace.

Blacksburg Baptist Church Records 18 Cubic Feet 11 boxes and 1 oversize folder

The collection consists of records from the Blacksburg Baptist Church, currently known as Church on Main in Blacksburg. The boxes contain materials related to financial records, minutes, church history, scrapbooks, photographs, ledger books, cassette tapes, correspondence, and more. The collection is organized based on organizations and types of records. This includes the Baptist Young People's Union, Church Building Committee, Church Bulletins, Correspondences, Financials, Leadership, Manuscripts, Membership, Photographs, Women's Missionary Society, and Women's Missionary Union. There are also printed out copies of microfilm pages which have been sorted into the "microfilm copies" and "permanent file copies." Many of the documents in these two series are duplicates of the original materials found in the other series. Some of the materials in the microfilm and permanent file copies are not found in the originals.

The Blake W. Corson, Jr., Papers are comprised of professional and personal files, correspondence, and published materials from 1861-1984 (bulk, 1934-1979), primarily relating to Corson's (1908-1991) career as an engineer at NASA Langley.

Blue Ridge Springs Correspondence 0.1 Cubic Feet 1 folder

Gross, Bettie, 1875-1964
The Blue Ridge Springs Correspondence contains two letters, a small note, and seven postcards. The seven postcards dated 1910-1942 are addressed to Elizabeth "Bettie" Gross (1875-1964) of Bedford County and her husband William "Bill" Gross (1865-1946), a merchant from Bedford County. The letters and the note are from Lucy M. Thomas (1865-1933), of Bedford County, Virginia, to Joseph Ferries (1865-1955), a farmer in Blue Ridge Springs, Botetourt County, Virginia. Thomas and Ferries later married in Bedford County, Virginia, in 1907. Bettie Gross and Joseph Ferries were siblings.
