The journal, 1914-1972 includes journal entries about the Barnard family's lives and handwritten recipes.

Most of the menus are from the late twentieth century and early twenty-first century, along with some menus dating earlier in the twentieth century. The menus contain a wide variety of cuisines. The collection also contains additional papers, including restaurant business cards, a recipe pamphlet, and exchange rate document from the Icelandic bank.
