Collections

This collection contains administrative records, announcements, publications, and other material created and collected by the Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC), a student organization at the College of William and Mary. Included in the records are notes from SEAC meetings, background research on environmental affairs, photographs and anouncements of SEAC events, proposals on how to make William and Mary a sustainable campus, and handmade signs announcing events for Earth Day 2011 at William and Mary.

The Student Organizations collection contains fliers, announcements, and programs for various student organizations at William & Mary. The organizations include academic clubs, arts groups, Greek social organizations, religious organizations, student athletic associations, and other groups.

This collection contains fliers and calendars for activities at or by the Student Recreation Center at the College of William and Mary. The collection also holds material for predecessor and related bodies and activities related to intramural sports at the university.

This collection contains a pamphlet on student rights, a Flat Hat supplement on the Rights and Freedoms of Students, and a Board Of Visitors entry adopting the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities.

The collection includes one leather-bound minute book that also contains the society's constitution and a list of members, 1838-1842. There are two pamphlets containing remarks read in honor of the anniversary of the granting of the Royal Charter to the College of William and Mary in 1840 and 1843.

Papers of the Taylor Family of Urbanna, Virginia. Sons were graduates from the College of William and Mary.

This collection includes two items. The first is a document written by Tyler to the faculty at the College of William and Mary, acknowledging his violation of the institutional rule of leaving Williamsburg without the permission of the faculty and the promise that he will not repeat the same mistake. The second document is the faculty's resolution to "overlook this violation of the College Laws" given Tyler's "general good conduct" and his "frank and candid acknowledgement" of his wrongdoing.

The records of the College of William and Mary men's a capella group Gentlemen of the College include internal and external correspondence related to public performances; the constitution and by-laws; fliers advertising performances and auditions; a history of the group; membership lists; photographs; an extensive collection of audiovisual material documenting both live performances and studio sessions; and several scrapbooks. A portion of the collection was created to mark the group's 10th and 20th anniversaries, however, material from throughout the group's history available.

Two sets of "The List" newsletter from 2012-2013. This was a newletter specific to the Nicholson Hall residence within the Botetourt Complex.
