Fourteen satirical cartoons created by Charles Homer McCutchen, a United States Army private serving in World War II. McCutchen was a resident of Chicago, and worked after the war as a painter and a freelance artist. The cartoons in this group feature commentary on military life, as well as politics.

Eastman Johnson apologizes to [John] Elderkin for the gentleman who had not seen the Harper portrait after today's work on it," reporting that it is now finished and inviting Elderkin to call again.

Letter from George P.A. Healy, Chicago, to an unknown female where he mentions her Mother's loss of eyesight, says he met her half-brother "when painting the portrait of the present Archbishop of New York" and asks her to tell her Mother "is now paid three hundred dollars in gold for a 25"x35." He'll be intact when he is able to paint a previously discussed portrait. January 12, 1868.

Papers, 1830-1921, of the Henry James Brown family. There is a biographical sketch of Henry James Brown an artist and Methodist clergyman, as well as sketches drawn by him and sermons written by him. The papers also are of other members of his family. Includes a cut-out valentine and a fold-out book of poems illustrated in water color both made by Mary A. Brown, sister of Henry James Brown; cut-out valentines and a bookmark made by Salina Brown Worsham; and correspondence between Salina Brown Worsham and J. S. Worsham, her husband.

Letter from Jerome Myers, Studio 912, Carnegie Hall, New York, New York to Alexander Kruse, Brooklyn, New York where he states that he "regrets going into that "den of carrols" which was a revalation [sic] of the lowest kind of art traffic." September 7, [1939].

The Marlene K. Jack papers contains photographs, exhibit catalogs, and articles related to Marlene Jack's artwork at William & Mary and in the Virginia peninsula region. The collection also includes departmental papers related to her career at the first female tenured faculty member in studio art at William & Mary.

Collection concerning Wesley B. Tanner of Ann Arbor, Michigan which includes a signed greeting card designed with a wood block illustration, two copies of a bibliography of his products through 1990 as well as an article about him. Also includes a 2006 Christmas Card printed by Wesley B. Tanner.

Mourning picture, ca. 1821, 14 1/2 x 17 5/8 in, done in memory of William Collson (1779-1820). The picture is a watercolor executed by Mary D. Collson and depicts a woman weeping beside the grave of William Collson with a willow tree in the background.

Three page letter concerning the local people around a boarding house and the subsequent building of a barn for the use as a studio for artistry work.
