Photographs of the artwork (including sculpture, paintings, drawings, screens, and murals) of Josephine Mather Aull (1908-1971), a member of the WVU faculty and Morgantown artist. Of the 98 photographs in this collection, 62 are mounted in an album, 24 are unmounted and are either enlargements or different views of works included in the album, and 12 are unmounted photographs of works not included in the album.

Correspondence, sketches, illustrations and papers of a magazine illustrator, Leslie Thrasher (1889-1936) originally from Piedmont, WV (on microfilm). Best known for the humor in his illustrations, his career started in 1912 after he had finished attending the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and the Ecole de Grande Chaumiere in Paris. During World War I he was part of the camouflage regiment of the 40th. Engineers, U. S. Army, serving in France where he was wounded by poison gas at the battle of Belleau Wood. At the height of his career in the 1920s and 1930s he did many magazine covers for the Saturday Evening Post and Liberty Magazine as well as advertisements for Fisk Tire and Cream of Wheat among others. Thrasher is often compared as an artist to his rival and friend Norman Rockwell and more than likely would have been as famous as Rockwell if he had not died in 1936 as a result of an accidental fire at his home on Long Island, NY. He is also noted for often using his hometown scenes, relatives and friends as models for his illustrations. Most of the correspondence is that of his daughter, the donor, and involves exhibits and sales of his art. Addendum of 2021-04-16 includes one complete copy of "The Saturday Evening Post" of 3 October 1936 featuring a cover with artwork by Leslie Thrasher (in flat storage box).

Papers of artist Max Hayslette, native West Virginian and longtime resident of Washington state, documenting his early life, his travels, and his work in industrial design and painting. There is a scrapbook from his youth in Rupert, West Virginia, prints of his artwork, photographs documenting his travels, and articles and news clippings about him and his work. There are also items related to his donation of a painting to the Rainelle Area Planning Commission to assist with their town restoration (in West Virginia). These items include an album of Rainelle student artwork given to him, a key to the city of Rainelle, a Distinguished West Virginian Award, and various clippings.

The Marriage Certificate of Perley Reed and Elizabeth Dee Frost, telegrams recieved by Elizabeth and Perley, as well as newspaper clippings celebrating their engagment. Elizabeth's certificate of intitiation into The Delta Kappa Gamma Society in 1965. There are also 6 artworks by Reed, who was a hobbyist painter. Three manuscripts compiled by Sam McColloch, including: the letters of Archie and Mahala McColloch, a West Virginia couple who moved to the Arizona Territory; the artwork of West Virginia painters Leona Hatcher and Lyle Bennet; and the mission logs and letters of Korean Conflict pilot John Walker Hatcher. All material compiled in these manuscripts is transcribed or photocopied. There are also three compact discs with digital copies of these manuscripts. An artificial collection composed of portraits in the West Virginia University Libraries and West Virginia and Regional History Center of historical West Virginia subjects dating from approximately the mid-nineteenth to mid-twentieth centuries. Includes portraits of political and military figures, and West Virginia University presidents.

Includes clippings (Music Dept., 1953-54; CAC, 1964-69); newsletters (Music Dept., 1950-66; CAC, 1982-83, 1992-95); and news releases (CAC, 1969-77, 1986-95). There are scrapbooks for the Women's Music Club (1 volume, 1904-1919), Music Dept. (1 volume, 1951-59), and CAC events (9 volumes, 1966-92). A photo album contains photographs of the construction of Eisland Hall (ca.1953-54). There are also slides, photographs, and other records documenting the construction and dedication of the CAC facility (ca.1966-68). A slide show with accompanying audio cassette that profiles the facilities and programs of the CAC (ca.1976-79). The inception of WVU's "School of Music" is documented by an original announcement outlining staff and course of instruction for the 1897-98 academic year. There is also an addendum of 2004/09/16 (1 record carton, 17 in.) that includes CAC dedication program (1969), newsletters (1982-1998), and news releases (1989-1991).
