These records contain a volume arranged in columns listing the date a person was paid, the name of the individual, the nature of the service or product, and the amount paid. These services concern only the Executive Mansion and the Capitol. There are also several pages related to appropriations for specific projects, including repairs to state cattle pens, the conservatory at the governor's house, and the state court house, and for building urinals, as well as special appropriations for the library and the governor's mansion. Another section lists sales of the "Summary" in 1876. Two newspaper clippings inviting sealed proposals for furnishing coal for state buildings are pasted into the back cover of the volume.

The Account Books, SC-000200, contains 13 account books or ledgers written by various people. Some of the items track family accounts while others track business accounts. Not included in this collection are any daybooks or diaries pertaining to the daily lives of the individuals. Each account book spans a couple of years while some cover a larger amount of time but altogether, the account books were created in the 19th century.

Account book, 1875-1878, for the Davis and Bower City Meat Market in Charleston, Illinois. Giles Davis (1828-1878), who was one of the owners seems to have made most of the entries.

Account book, 1858-1874, Hillsboro and Concord, New Hampshire, listing dollar amounts earned for a variety of different services like taking oxen to pasture, bushels of wheat gathered, horse shoeing, removing wood tree stumps, and so on. Other entries list items purchased, including pork, nails, beef, pewter plates, potatoes, sugar, and beans. Some parts of the volume have been used as an exercise book by a child and a few news clippings can be found glued in front and back.For a list of names mentioned in the account book, compiled by the seller, see folder link below.

Account book, 1928-1929, 473 pp. detailing names of customers, customers location, parts, repairs, costs, and other information relating to the business transactions. Includes a few loose notes and receipts, e.g. from J.C. Moss. Most of the addresses listed in the book are in Virginia (Richmond, Warsaw, Hague, Gloucester, Alexandria). Baltimore, Maryland is also mentioned.Name and address written in pencil inside the front cover is Freddie Gurdy (?), 428 N. Carleton St., Baltimore Md.
