This collection consists of three commonplace books belonging to Harriet "Hatty" S. Rowley, of Utica, New York. The books are nicknamed the Books of Wisdom and ignorance in part because one notebook was titled "Ignorance Book," by Rowley, while the other two books were labeled with the following note, "Aunt Harriet's books of wisdom." These books hold recordings of quotes from famous authors and orators of the late 19th century, and as such they are full of "wisdom" and advice on life.

This collection features a memory book belonging to Miss Isabella Bain (1855-1934) of New Orleans, Louisiana. Various personal letters from friends and New Orleans community members addressed to Miss Bain are included.

An autograph album of Jemima Buell Griffing from Clinton, Connecticut.The album is filled with phrases, poems (some original), and short entries, including stories of Griffing with her family and friends.

This collection contains a scrapbook belonging to Joy Rebekah Kime Benton (1886-1957) of Burlington, North Carolina, an author, poet, painter, and weaver. The contents of scrapbook items are principally documents from 1905 to 1908, although some paste-ins are from the 1930s. There are 128 pages with photographs, clippings, drawings, and ephemera pasted and laid in.

Julia A. Dennison memory album, 1862-1866, Milan, Indiana, in red morocco "The Pet Album" binding, published by Leavitt and Allen with black and white printed illustrations of children and their mother in activities such as bathing or playing. The album, which is a gift from her brother, contains personal advice about keeping the young mind pure and other sentimental notes from her brothers. There are signatures of acquaintainces from Indiana and Ohio, including Civil War infantry in the form of business cards. Of interest is a regimental stamp of George Dennison of the 83rd Regiment of Indiana Volunteers. There is one leaf with eight locks of braided hair tied with ribbons and signed by each girl (although one lock of hair is missing).

This collection contains one volume belonging to Lauren A. Wright of Hebron, Connecticut, with 67 pages of inscriptions, prose, and drawings. An intricate calligraphy inscription reads "Calvin H. Phelps to Miss Laura A. Wright, Hebron." Dates for inscriptions range from 1830 to 1860, with the majority written in the 1830's and 1840's. Locations written in the book include Hebron, Hartford, Glastenbury, Belchertown, New Haven, Columbia, and West Dennis, Connecticut.

This collection contains the college scrapbook of Louise Boyer who attended the School of Education at the Hampton Institute, now Hampton University, in Hampton, Virginia. Hampton Institute, a historically Black college, was founded in 1868 as the Hampton Agricultural and Industrial School by the American Missionary Association for the education of the formerly enslaved. Also included is an earlier collection of one scrapbook titled "Scrapbook of Louise Boyer at Hampton Institute. This scrapbook has more information about Hampton Institute included with Boyer's own scrapbook pages. There are pressed flowers, progams for music events and track meets, autographs, greeting cards, poetry, photographs, and newspaper clippings. There is also a poem dedicated to the memory of Hampton administrator Albert Howe.
