Regrets that Tyler proposed to influence the election campaign against Dr. Jorgenson; notes the value of a Republican winning in the South and urges Tyler not to interfere, no matter what he thinks of Jorgenson personally; discusses the problem of sectionalism in party politics and the political equality of all men, "white or black" assures Tyler that the charges brought against him were not made by Jorgenson and if Tyler can prove them to be unfounded, he will restore Tyler to his position. 8 pp. ALS.
