1-wooden paddle painted red. The front of the paddle has "WELCOME to my DELTA SIGMA THETA (Greek letters used)/Ms. Elizabeth Young / College of William and Mary / MY CHAPTER/ #1 BAT GIRL/ Spring '82/ The Dynamic Duo/ April 10, 1982" painted in white. There is an elephant painted in white depicted beside the Greek letter sigma and in front of "College." The paddle was made by a member of the Mu Epsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at the College of William and Mary. The Mu Upsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on the campus of William and Mary on February 7th, 1976. The paddle measures approximately 24in. and is in good condition. There are three large diagonal stripes of white paint on the back of the paddle. There is also chipping along the edges of the paddle. Gift of Elizabeth Young. UA 2014.118.02
