One wooden shield shaped like a crest that was created by Tyler Hudgins for his Neophyte Showing during the Fall 2008 semester. The shield is made of wood and spray painted black and gold. In the middle of the shield is 1975 (the date the chapter was founded at Williamand Mary), "Kappa Pi", Alpha Phi Alpha in Greek letters, and a triangle with a 1 in the middle of it. At the top are 7 jewels representing the 7 founders of the fraternity, the 8 stars on the left represented the 8 solos that crossed into Kappa Pi, and the 8 stars on the right are the charter members of the Kappa Pi chapter. At the bottom of the shield is the date 1906, the founding of the national organization. The back of the shield contains a black strap used as a handle. It measures 19.25in x 12in and is in good condition. Gift of Tyler Hudgins.
