Scope and Contents
One brass Christmas ornament featuring the "W" and "M" monogram of King William III and Queen Mary II. The ornament also has a red ribbon tied around the loop of the "W." On the back of the ornament "1988" is engraved on the left side of the center of the "M" and "© 1978" is engraved on the right side of the center of the "M." Engraved on the center point of the "M" is the Virginia Metalcrafters logo and " ®". The ornament comes in a green box. The lid of the box features the logo of the Virginia Metalcrafters in gold. "Virginia Metalcrafters" is written in gold in an arch above the logo and "SINCE 1890" is written in gold in an arch below the logo. A slip of paper accompanies the ornament in the box that gives information of the cypher, King William III and Queen Mary II, and The College of William and Mary. The ornament measures approximately 3in. (length) x 2.5in. (height). The red ribbon is 4.5in. (length). The box measures approximately 3.5in. (length) x 2.375in. (width). The ornament is in good condition. There is a small hole in the front of the ornament on the right arch of the "M" and on the left center of the "M." There is a small tarnish stain at the top of the left arch of the "W" in the front. Gift of Steve Murden. UA 2012.219.02
