"The Children's Hour at the Peyton Randolph House" Printing Block, 1933

One printing block with a metal plate. The metal plate features a relief of the Peyton Randolph House with a woman in eighteenth century clothing following a little girl in eighteenth century clothing pushing a toy baby carriage. It also features a little boy playing the hoop rolling game and a woman on the porch of the Peyton Randolph House both in eighteenth century clothing. "343" is written and underlined in pencil on the right edge of the block. This printing block was made for a print in the 1933 Colonial Echo by Charles W. Smith. The printing block is 5.5in. (width) x 7.125in. (length). It is in good condition with one 0.875in. blue stain and another 0.75in. blue stain on the right edge of the printing block. It also has a 2in split on the back near the bottom as well as two 0.875in. splits on the bottom edge of the woodblock. The printing block has a 3.5in. phrase starting with a "B" written in pencil and a 0.125in. turquois stain on the back. Gift of Nancy Peters. UA 2013.209.01
