Tennis Racquet Bag of Giles Buckner Cooke, 1900

One brown canvas tennis bag that once belonged to Giles Buckner Cooke, class of 1923 at the College of William and Mary. The bag was made by The Horace Partridge Co. in Boston, Massachusetts sometime before 1900. The inside pouch is inscribed with "Ann Dorsey Cooke, 502 Yarmouth Road, Towson, Maryland." There is another smaller pouch that is inscribed with "Ann Dorsey Cooke, Roland Park Country School." The bag is approximately 28 in. x 10.5 in. The bag is in fair to poor shape with a few holes in the bottom and evidence of heavy fading all over the bag. Gift of Anna Dorsey Cooke Allison, class of 1959. Located in Rec Obj S3. UA 2009.370
