Scope and content:

One silver case, supposed to have belonged to William Dawson and which once contained the seal of the diploma for the degree of Doctor of Divinity awarded to him by the University of Oxford, 10 February 1746/1747. The case bears the mark of English silversmith Robert Makepeace.
