Scope and Contents
One purple and gold knit wool sweater. Wool v-neck sweater knitted in purple wool with gold knit contrast neckline and gold knit stripes on arms, cuffs, across the chest and on the hem. Twelve wool felt patches sewn on front and back of sweater including one 8.75in. patch on front with Omega Psi Phi coat of arms, one 6in. arm patch stitched with "Spring '67," one 15.5in. back patch with ? (omega) symbol and "omega psi phi" stitched in dark yellow thread, and one 5in. rectangular patch on rear hem with "George Reid JR" stitched in white thread. Made by Logan Kitting Mills in Chicago, Illinois. 1967. Sweater measures 28in.(length). Sweater worn by the father of Justin Reid (charter member of Alpha Delta Sigma Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity) as a student at what was then Virginia State College and is now Virginia State University.
