Scope and Contents

The Duc Cap of Edgar J. Fisher, class of 1942. A Duc Cap was traditionally worn by freshmen to the college from 1920-1970. The Duc Cap is gray and gold with green on the brim of the hat and on the button at the top. There is also a green "W" and "M" on the front of the Duc Cap. The Duc Cap has a brown lining on the inside and "Edgar J. Fisher" is stamped in black and written in green marker on the back. The hat is a size 6.75 and was made by the Staunton Novelty Company. The Duc Cap is in good condition. There are signs of wear and tear on the brown lining on the inside of the hat as well as considerable creasing on the front of the brown lining. There are also four holes on the gold section of the Duc Cap on the wearers left. There is an approximately 1in. brown stain on the bottom of the wearer's right and some of the green felt on the button at the top is coming off. Transferred by Alumni Association. UA 2011.498.24
