Still suffering from rheumatic pains; has rearranged business so he can spend most of his summer at the springs; sorry to hear Jerdone's mother is not well; requests that Jerdone allow him to sell some of his "least serviceable" enslaved persons and to buy others; feels should get fieldhands to clear the swamp rather than enslaved persons to work in the forge as will be more profitable.
