Correspondence about the Williamsburg restoration between Earl Gregg Swem and Harold R. Shurtleff, Director of the Research and Record Department of Perry, Shaw and Hepburn. Topics include the William and Mary Quarterly, sampler of a building similar to the Wren Building, the copper plate, purchase of the Latrobe sketchbooks, research on buildings and Williamsburg residents, setting up a Research (Historical) Department as part of the Williamsburg Holding Corporation, Robert Carter Papers owned by Louis Chauvenet, the Sub-Committee of Historians' Conference, a Flat Hat medal owned by Otis Geddy, peacocks at the Governor's Palace and a possible gift of books from the French Government to the College of William and Mary.
