Describes the treatment Mrs. Galt is receiving for the fever. Fifty people die daily. Jim just left in time. Suggest treatment if he gets sick. Asks Zander to tell his Uncle Dick [Galt] that Mr. A. Galt gave the money to his wife, and learned that both the children are better. News of the deaths of various doctors and other friends. [Note: Alexander Galt's first wife, Mary Jeffery Galt, died in December 1840, after never recovering from the effects fo the fever. Seemingly Alexander Jr., and his brother Jim were staying with their cousin, Gabriella Galt, in Williamsburg.]
