Alabama Half Dollars

Scope and content:

2-Silver Alabama half dollars. The coin was issued by the U.S. Mint under an act of congress to commemorate the centennial of the admission of Alabama into the Union. The coin's obverse shows a bust of Governors William Wyatt Bibb (1819) and Thomas Erby Kilby (1919), as well as twenty-four stars. The coin's reverse is the state seal of Alabama. The coins measure 38.mm (diameter). Fair condition with an excessive amount of grime on both coins. Gift of Alex B. Andrews. EDU2012.045
