Henry Skipwith for $6000, even though the amount should have been closer to $20,000; southern laxity extends even to the bench; to be paid in four installments by way of joint bonds in name of W. Skipwith and Ed. Harrison, who has married Col. [Henry] Skipwith's daughter; Peyton Skipwith and his wife, seen last year on way to Rhode Island, told of marriage; Col. Skipwith is in a bad way financially; his present wife's family says he has spent his wife's estate to pay his debts; pity him but cannot love him as once did.
