Miss Blackwell denies that Ingram could possibly have a copy of a letter written to her by Poe because she had never received one from him. She remembers that she visited the Poe s at Fordham in company with someone whose name she now does not recall to deliver a basket of delicacies suitable for an invalid and that Poe had returned that visit. She will not permit Ingram to use her name in connection with the letter or with anything he is writing about Poe.
