Physical description:

A white, glazed ceramic vase in the shape of an Art Deco style horse. The horse stands on four legs upon an oval base with triangular edging. The horse's mane is stylized and its tail is short as if styled in a bun. Stamped on the underside of the base are the words "Made in P. V. Czechoslovakia" indicating the vase was made during the interwar period (ca. 1918-1938). Similar in style to Horse 52. 55. White Surrey. The favorite horse of King Richard the Third of England (1483-1485), that monarch as whom, in Shakespeare's play concerning him, John Wilkes Booth is said to have appeared at his best.
