- Cabinet card of the interior of Christ Church in Alexandria, Virginia. The photographer's name and address are embossed on the front left edge of the cardboard mount - 'Naramore, Alexandria, Va.' A label affixed to the reads: Christ Church, Alexandria, Va. ( Washington's Church) On the 27th day of February, 1773, this Church was delivered over to the Vestry, and by them pronounced completed in a workman-like manner. On the same day Col. Washington became the purchaser of pew No. 5, agreeing also to pay an annual rental of 5 pounds sterling for the same. He was then a member of the Vestry. On the ninth day of June, 1814, the Church was consecrated by Bishop Claggett of Maryland under the style and title of Christ Church. D. H. Naramore, Photographer. 321 King St., Alexandria, Va. Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1892. By D. H. Naramore, Alexandria, Va., in the office of the Librarian of Congress at Washington. An ink stamp on the reverse reads, 'Christ Church Sewing Society.'
