Albumen print on cabinet card mount of head-and-shoulders portrait of Mary Theresa Carver Leiter [Mrs. Levi Ziegler Leiter], member of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association, Vice Regent for Illinois (1885-1913). The cardboard mount has gold embossed edges. The photographer's imprint on the front reads, 'Max Platz, Chicago' and on the reverse, 'Max Platz, Photographer, 88 N. Clark Street, Chicago.'
