- Cabinet card of interior view of the blue room taken from the doorway towards the fireplace along the north wall. Label adhered to the reverse of the cardboard mount reads: LaFayette's Room, Mt. Vernon Mansion, So called in consequence of its having been occupied by General Lafayette when visiting Washington at Mt. Vernon. A blue ink stamp states 'Copyright 1880 by the Mount Vernon Association.' The curators at Mount Vernon have disproved Lafayette's stay in the room and have accordingly attributed an alternate room.
