- Photographic print of the central passage in the Mansion at Mount Vernon. View towards staircase and west entrance. Pillars added for support. A relic case situated near the west door is protected by a railing. A case displaying one of Washington's swords hangs next to the pillar at far right. The key to the Bastille hangs in a small case on the opposite wall. A handwritten note on the reverse reads: Front Hall of Mt. Vernon. On the right is Mary [Nelly] Parke Custis' music room, and Washignton's swords. On the right in the little case, the key of the bastille. Gift from Mrs. Cabot, Oct. 1951.
