A.L.S. 1 page. Name on original manuscript appears as "Aug. Washington". Letter of family interest--expresses pleasure at Lawrence's recovery--congratulations on birth of son--"You need not have been so severe on the Salts as you were in your last, if you would but consider how much you are indebted to them ..."--doesn't approve of taking up large tracts of land so far back, "it is a ready way to keep your Self always behind hand."--Warner Washington to marry Betty Mason the end of the month. Integral cover, watermark (crown over encircled GR, and crown over heraldic shield and motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense").
