D.S. oversize parchment folded. An indenture for the sale of the estate of Culthorpe in Derbyshire, England by Francis Ash "of St. Mary's county in the province of Maryland planter, ..." Augustine Washington acting under a power of attorney granted him by Ash. Reference to the contract for the sale on June 25, 1728. presumably Washington, when he traveled to England in 1729, acted to complete the sale for Ash.
