The Public Information Committee was formed in 1947 for the "preparation and release throughout the year of such information and material relative to Mount Vernon as may be deemed of importance and interest to the public." This series only holds a few years worth of the committee's subject files leading up to its integration into the Publications Committee. Records include correspondence, reports, speeches, print material, and other miscellaneous items. Inclusive dates are 1976-1982.

- This collection is open to research during scheduled appointments. Researchers must complete the Washington Library's Special Collections and Archives Registration Form before access is provided. According to the policies of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association, certain records in the archives may only be available for research 30 years after creation or file date. The library reserves the right to restrict access to items for preservation purposes.
