Commends Record--continuance depends on Assn support. Also contains a draft copy of a letter to Edward Everett. Tries to avoid abolition problems in appointing VRs, asks advice on keeping out of politics. Refers to printed reply to Mrs. Hopkins' charge that husband of VR for Vermont was a Democrat. Glad he approves her plan for a loan. $8000 on $15,000 payment due. ER-11, p. 75
