The articles of agreement between John Augustine Washington III and the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association of the Union, signed by John A. Washington and Ann Pamela Cunningham, "A Southern Matron, Regent" and dated Richmond, April 6, 1858. This document subject to the Act which incorporated the Association passed by the General Assembly of Virginia on March 19, 1858 embodies the agreement to sell two hundred acres of the Mount Vernon tract including the Mansion, the Tomb of George Washington, the gardens, grounds, and wharf for the sum of $200,000. Autograph document, 5 pages hinged and bound.
