- Abstract:
- Wickham, the father of Confederate general Williams Carter Wickham, wrote to Robert E. Lee to relay his satisfaction that Lee accepted the presidency of Washington College. Wickham's grandson, Henry Taylor Wickham was to attend Washington College. Wickham asked that Lee keep a watchful eye on Henry and give him advice as needed. Wickham also urged Lee to write a history of the war.
