Rockbridge Alum Springs
My Dear Sister,
We reached here last Wednesday evening and the enlargement has apparently diminished considerably since that time. We expect to remain here till near the close of my vacation & then return to Lexington. I regret that we have been unable to visit you this summer but I felt that under the circumstances it was my duty to make Anna's health the first object of concern. In coming from Staunton here I fell in with Cousin [Flo?] & her little boy on their way to the Healing Springs. Let me hear from you soon & if you can write before the 25th of this month, direct to this place, otherwise direct to Lexington. Give love to all. Anna joins me in love to you.
Your affectionate brother
