The two tapes cover the life story of a man born in rural Fairfax County who worked a Colvin Run Mill from 1923-1928, then joined the Connecticut Pie Company of Georgetown from 1928-1951. He recalls delivering feed to stores throughout the county in the 1920s that no longer exist. Happy times at the Great Falls merry-go-round are remembered, as well as the square dances in farmer's barn or at the Grange in Great Falls. Fairs in Frederick, Maryland, and Richmond, Virginia, are discussed.
