Scope and content:

Sub-series 3: Professional and affiliated activities (circa 1930s-2016) includes material collected or created by Zelda documenting her professional activities outside of her role as Artistic Director of Arena Stage, including her non-production work with New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and The Acting Company, awards and professional honors, general notes, newspaper clippings and articles, materials related to regional and international theatres and individuals outside of Arena Stage, and participation in professional organizations and conferences. Materials related to Zelda's time as a student, primarily during her graduate work at George Washington University, are also included, as well as some materials related to her childhood theatrical experiences. Unless otherwise noted, all honorary degrees, awards, and certificates were presented to Zelda. In cases where headshots and resumes accompanied material for specific individuals, these were left in place rather than being removed to the general headshots and resumes folder. This subseries is arranged alphabetically by folder title. Folders that contain authored writings or represent materials for a specific individual or group have been arranged alphabetically by last name or organization name. National Endowment for the Arts materials in this subseries include articles, transcripts, and other materials not directly connected to a grant or fellowship application or award; materials related to specific applications for Arena Stage can be found in Series 2.1. Writings and speeches by Zelda related to specific events can be found in Series 3 and are noted in the folder Scope and Content.
