McLean Area, HENRY C. STROHMAN HOUSE across from Merrywood. Built c. 1858-1860. Burned in 1914. Stood facing Chain Bridge Road, McLean just to right of road entering Dogwoods development across from Merrywood entrance. Just about where a house now (1980) stands. Strohman was a Treasury Department clerk in Washingotn. He married Mary Rhopp of York, PA. Their daughter, Julia Anne Strohman, married Samuel August Pearson. Their son is S. R. Pearson, born 1901 at S. A. Pearson home on Chain Bridge Road, Lewinsville, demolished in 1962 for Dulles Airport Access Road.
