Scope and content:

Contains copies of two acts of the General Assembly regarding the two legions raised by Virginia in 1781. The first act was passed on 1 March 1781 and the second was passed in October 1782. The first act creates the two legions to consist of six companies of infantry and one troop of cavalry. The second act permits the soldiers enlisted in the legions to enlist in the state's quota of Continental troops provided they give up their claim to any bounty or pay accruing to them under the acts.
