The unidentified blacksmith shop was perhaps owned by Peter Talbot and conducted business in Powhatan County, Virginia during the mid-19th century.

Ledger, 1852-1855, of an unidentified blacksmith shop. It records the individual accounts of customers. Information found in each entry includes name of customer, dates of transactions, services rendered, and the amount owed. Services rendered include shoeing horses; making, repairing, and sharpening farm tools; and repairing buggies. Volume is in poor condition due to missing cover and spine.
