Another early prominent family member was Heinrich Von Schudi who as chief military officer to the royal court was bestowed (ca. 1100) an honorary title that became used as the family surname. The first members of the family to come to America were Martin and Rosena Judy who emigrated in 1738 to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
