Ward Television Corporation produced the program in collaboration with six leading life sciences research institutions: Harvard University; Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology (Cambridge, England); University of California, San Fancisco; University of Michigan; University of Wisconsin, Madison; and VCU. The project was funded in part by Oracle and the Pfizer Foundation. Each episode consisted of three, eight-minute segements which featured the work of scientists and researchers from the participating institutions.
