Meade . These letters show a\n         continuation of friendship and affection that had begun\n         between \n          Hodijah Baylies and \n          Everard Meade (1746-1802), father of\n         Hodijah, when they were both aides-de-camp to Major General \n          [Benjamin ?] Lincoln during the\n         Revolutionary War.","One letter, December 20, 1832, discusses the rank of \n          Everard Meade in the Continental Army and\n         the possibility of erecting a tombstone to his memory. Another\n         letter, September 13, 1835, from the northerner, \n          Edmund Baylies , expresses sympathy for\n         anti-abolitionist sentiments.","Letters to \n          Everard Meade include correspondence from \n          R[ichard] K[idder] Meade , July 3, 1777,\n         concerning the actions of a party of militia who captured a\n         ship of produce on the New Jersey shore; \n          D[avid] M. Randolph (son of Richard\n         Randolph, Jr. of Curle) and \n          David Meade .","Letters to \n          Hodijah Meade include the following\n         correspondents: \n          T.H.
