She later become an instructor then the director of the Roanoke Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. While at Madison, Vaughan was active in Sigma Alpha Sigma sorority and Clara Barton Club, and served as a cabinet member of the YWCA.","The materials within this collection were at one point part of the donor's Madison College scrapbook.","Due to the acidity of the paper and deteriorating quality, some materials have been photocopied on acid-free paper.","In order to streamline the process of applying collection numbers, Special Collections staff completed a large-scale renumbering campaign in 2017-2018. The collection also contains newspaper clippings and other ephemera pertaining to the donor and events relevant to her years at Madison College that were saved from a personal scrapbook. ","Folder 1, Student Life, 1942-1944, consists of exams, registration materials, and documents regarding the donor's sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha. Also of interest is a list of books and their corresponding prices that the donor purchased for her classes.
