He then shifted his focus to the information gathering and application, attaining a Bachelor's degree in the field from Dartmouth College and later attending Washington and Lee University.","Riegel became an internationally-known expert on the topic of propaganda in the 1930s after extensive studies of its importance in modern politics. Williams studied photography at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. After graduation, Mr. Williams enlisted in the Navy shortly after the attack on  Pearl Harbor during World War II and was stationed at Camp Peary, where he started the base's photography laboratory. While at Camp Peary, he shot many photographs for Colonial Williamsburg, who hired him shortly after World War II to start their photography section. After nine years at Colonial Williamsburg, Mr. Williams became the photographer for William \u0026 Mary, a position he held for 35 years. While at William and Mary, Mr. Williams photographed various events at the College, including Charter Day and Commencement ceremonies, the inauguration of Davis Y. Paschall as president of William \u0026 Mary, and the celebrations during Homecoming Weekend.","Thomas L. After the war, married his wife of fifty-five years, Katherine Foley, and joined the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) assisting in the Jehol and Hupeh provinces of China.","When he returned to the United States in 1948, he went to work as a researcher for American Business Consultants, Inc., in New York City, a security firm and publisher of the anticommunist newsletter Counterattack. In January of 1950 he became editor of Counterattack where he remained until May of 1954. He then moved to Washington, D.C., to head the National Security Program of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). In 1958 he left the VFW to serve as a research analyst and consultant to the House Committee on Un-American Activities (HUAC). During this processing period, SCRC retained the donor's original filing scheme (alphabetical arrangement by subject/topic). A print finding aid (Francis J. McNamara collection: Finding Aid and Research Guide with Index) was initially published in 1997, which described the first 52 boxes. In 2007 the remaining portion of the collection was processed by Benjamin Ranta and Colva Weissenstein, and an EAD finding aid was prepared. Final processing was completed by David Arditi and Kelsey Willingham in 2008-2009. She earned a Bachelor's degree in American History from University of North Carolina Greensboro and a Ph.D. in Women's Studies from the Union for Experimenting Colleges and Universities in Cincinnati, Ohio. Now retired, Brinson dedicated her career and efforts to women's rights, documenting the history of civil rights, community support of HIV/AIDS patients, and anti-war efforts.","Selected examples of Brinson's contributions include: working with a team to conduct and collect over 200 oral histories with civil rights activists through the Kentucky Historical Society, leading to the production of a documentary titled \"Living the Story\"; working with Richmond AIDS Ministry and recruiting/training primary care doctors on how to care for people with HIV; conducting and collecting oral histories of Richmond people involved in justice work; serving on the board of Quaker House, an anti-war military counseling organization in North Carolina; and volunteering with the Richmond Peace Education Center (RPEC). As part of her work with Richmond Peace Education Center, Brinson helped organize the Eyes Wide Open Project, which displayed books of American soldiers who had died in Iraq.
