Coiner was the co-founder of C.C. Rosen and Sons Inc. and operated Rudes Hill Farm. He was invloved in the Shenandoah County community as a member of the Shenandoah County Historical Society, a past chairman of the Shenandoah County Board of Zoning Appeals and a life member of Virginia 4-H All Stars. Coiner was involved in the renovation of the Our Soldiers Confederate Cemetery in Mt. Jackson.
