From 1947 until her death, Mrs.\nTempleman served the Society of the Lees of Virginia as Secretary, Genealogist and Historian. She wrote four books and numerous journal articles, primarily on the Lee family and also local history. Mrs. Templeman was a driving force behind legislation to\npreserve Sully Plantation (1958) and the creation of Leesylvania State Park (1978).\nThroughout her life Mrs. Templeman collected clippings and notes on subjects related to\nthe Lee family as well as items of local interest.","The collection consists of articles, notes correspondence,\nclippings, and printed matter written and collected by Mrs. Templeman. A full set (1921-\n1994), mostly bound, of the annual reports of the Society of the Lees of Virginia is\nincluded.
