The second section, housed in the scrapbook area of the department, is comprised of slides, negatives and photographs of some of his commissions and of other buildings of interest to Stewart. Many of these slides are of architecturally historic buildings. The last section is made up of architectural drawings and blueprints generated by Stewart's practice. These drawings are located in map case drawers #40-67.","Robert Welton Stewart was an architect based in Richmond, Virginia. Born in 1937 in Kansas, Stewart grew up in Minnesota and North Carolina, where he graduated from Duke University. He then received a master's degree from Yale University's School of Architecture. While working as a designer-draftsman with Baskerville \u0026 Son and during his employment at David Warren Hardwicke \u0026 Partners, Stewart gained the experience he needed to open his own architectural firm, Interplan, in 1972.
