Carter and Susan Carter. He entered VMI in 1889 and graduated in 1893. Carter spent his career as a businessman, holding executive positions in various corporations, including the Virginia-Carolina Chemical Corporation. He married Roberta Atkinson on November 30, 1904 and the couple had two daughters, Eda and Susan. Carter died in Richmond, Virginia on July 3, 1950, and he is buried in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond.","The Spencer L. Carter papers contain two items dating from Spencer L. Carter's VMI cadetship.
